VIS-ENG believes our goal is to provide solutions. We will only offer these solutions if they meet not only the prescribed regulatory standards but also our own requirements for responsible development and long-term viability. We take pride in our history of successful projects. We rely on our engineering background and project experience to test our solutions. We take the 30-year unblemished track record of our personnel’s projects standing the test of time as an ongoing responsibility that we must continue to uphold. We believe that level of responsibility should extend to all elements of our works including the design, budgets, timelines, constructed works, meeting the requirements for regulatory approval and enhancing the Vision for the Project.

VIS-ENG does not view any part of the project that we may be undertaking as a separate entity but views it as an interactive piece of a whole solution. We believe that environmental stewardship should be an integral cohesive part of stormwater management and overall civil design. Nothing of value can be created in isolation. This starts with our own open office concept and to our working relationships we have developed with clients, other consultants and regulatory agents. We have found that by working together with the other team members and identifying the real objectives that a more cost-effective, acceptable, timely, preferable and marketable solution can be found without shirking the responsibility for delivering the finished product.

VIS-ENG has a team that has not only been the design engineers for hundreds if not thousands of projects but has a history in approvals, construction and development that allows us to see the full picture and build the engineering requirements into the Vision to achieve the goal of a successful, feasible project. VIS-ENG has a team that has been involved in numerous projects of various sizes and is now focusing on the Sea to Sky Corridor, the Sunshine Coast and Bowen Island. We deal primarily with residential, commercial, and mixed-use development’s civil engineering and project management aspects.

Our field of expertise is wide-ranging with work in planning, land development, subdivision approvals and design, design of roads and services, water/sanitary pump stations, residential as well as commercial, institutional and industrial civil servicing, Stormwater Management, and Sedimentation and Erosion Control contract tendering and management. VIS-ENG also has the expertise to provide single-family or communal septic field evaluation, coupled with design and filing with the appropriate regulatory authority to achieve approvals.  

We are experienced not just at Civil Engineering design but have seen numerous developments from the land use planning, engineering design stage through approvals, tendering, contract management, turn over, and in some case operation to meet the overall Vision. Our scope of work typically involves identifying the project vision, coordination with other consultants, technical design and coordination with regulatory authorities to ensure that all works are completed to the design and specifications and the Team Vision.

Efficient Stormwater Management: We have integrated some of the fresh academic approaches taught to our younger staff with some of the on-the-ground experience of our senior staff to come up with some very productive, cost-effective environmentally superior stormwater management features. We have had some great canvases to explore the options of groundwater infiltration and retention and have had the luxury of working with some superior environmental and expert hydrology consultants of the Pacific Northwest.

Integration of Project Management and Innovative Design Solutions:  Our key staff have extensive construction experience which benefits not only managing tendering, contracts, the contractor and construction but is an extremely valuable element of our design approach. We have had experience managing projects as small as several thousand dollars to individual project contracts of over fourteen million.

Experience and Diversity in our background: our long history and our varied experiences with a broad reach of support consultants allows us to identify techniques to solve project obstacles. Our staff has also made a conscious decision to maintain a strong role in infill development and smaller projects as well as the larger one. We find there to be a very symbiotic effect of working on multiple size projects. We believe our experiences from some of our larger projects provide us with additional tools to excel at what are often tough smaller projects. At the same time these numerous small projects often provide insight into innovative ways to address project requirements.

VIS-ENG has a satellite office in Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast with two staff members having residences on the coast. VIS-ENG is currently working on projects from qathet Regional District, SCRD, Fraser Valley, Metro Vancouver and up to the SLRD including their member municipalities. Our Team’s experience includes senior positions in Engineering Design, development, approvals and construction. 

Our office is equipped with the state of the art technical resources with the latest in hardware and software. Our experienced staff is skilled at delivering the desired results in a timely manner. Our extensive experience in the design, construction and management of residential, commercial and industrial developments allows us to find for our clients the most sustainable and economical solution to any design problem we are faced with.
